Trump Success isn’t going to be a success for long.
The maker of Donald Trump’s two fragrances — Trump Success and Empire by Trump – are cutting ties with the businessman-turned-Republican candidate for president.
“Perfumania is winding down its retail business with the Donald Trump fragrance brand,” Jono Waks, the brand’s publicist, told msnbc, explaining that the company was looking into the ways they’d legally be able to end their deal with the polarizing politician. Macy’s, the exclusive retailer of the scent, had already ended their business relationship with Trump earlier this month.

Perfumania is the latest brand to cut ties and publicly distance themselves from Trump in the three weeks since he made his presidential campaign announcement, during which he called some Mexican immigrants who have illegally crossed the border criminals and “rapists.”
Several navigation coordination points above Palm Beach International Airport that were previously named for Trump will be renamed, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The navigation points or “fixes” – DONLD, TRMMP, and UFIRD – are used by pilots taking off from the airport; they will be renamed over the coming months. “In general, the FAA chooses names that are non-controversial and relate to the area in which the fixes are located. Because of the charting cycle, the updates could take several months to take effect,” Laura J. Brown, an FAA spokesperson, told msnbc in a statement.
Although Trump told the Palm Beach Post that the airport naming convention was an “honor” in 2010, on Thursday he scoffed at them, telling msnbc in a statement released by an aide: “Making America Great Again is far more important to me than an honor I never knew I had….meaning a blip on the radar.”
Meanwhile, NBC Universal, the parent company of msnbc, as well as ESPN, Univision, NASCAR, the PGA, and Serta have all either ended partnerships or severed ties with the former reality TV show star. New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has also said his city would review its contracts with the real estate mogul.
In a recent interview with NBC News, Trump acknowledged, “Yeah, I’m losing some contracts, who cares, people – politically they’re weak and they want to be politically correct.” He added, “Compared to what I have, it doesn’t matter.”
Trump continues to stand by his incendiary immigration remarks, telling NBC News’ Katy Tur: “There’s nothing to apologize for.”
Trump Success was launched in 2012 amid Trump’s highly-publicized “birther” crusade, when he argued that President Obama wasn’t born in the U.S, a claim he still stands by. That scent reportedly smelled like “fresh juniper, iced red currant, brushed with hints of coriander.”
Empire by Trump was launched this March, ahead of his presidential bid. “Bold notes of peppermint, spicy chai and a hint of juicy apple demand attention. Continuing into the heart of the fragrance rests a masculine floral comprised of orange flower and jasmine blended with exotic tonka beans,” a press release said at the time.
Trump has yet to comment on the fragrance companies’ decision to back away from him. However, he did deny reports Thursday that RNC chairman Reince Priebus called this week to ask him to “tone down” his rhetoric. In spite of all the criticism, Trump maintains that he will win the Latino vote handily if nominated for president.
