After a group of bipartisan senators including Senator Chuck Schumer, Senator John McCain and Senator Marco Rubio, immigration is now well on its way to becoming President Obama’s first key legislative action in his second presidential term. The group has laid out four principles for immigration reform — creating a “tough but fair path to citizenship” for illegal immigrants that’s contingent on border security, reforming the system to boost the economy, establishing an effective employment verification program, and lastly, reforming the system of admitting future workers.
