By pretty much any measure, the first night in Charlotte went well for the Democratic Party. Getting particularly high marks by the pundits were Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro, and First Lady Michelle Obama. In fact, the speech by Mrs. Obama prompted this reaction from msnbc‘s Chuck Todd:

And then there’s reaction from the Romney–Ryan campaign.
