Andrea Peterson is an independent journalist and multimedia artist who reported on government surveillance and almost every other aspect of the digital dystopia beat at The Washington Post while a staff writer from 2013 to 2016, then spent years doing government accountability reporting at major investigative nonprofits and freelance reporting. Their byline has appeared in Politico, Slate, The Daily Beast and other outlets. Peterson founded MidMountain, an arts and agricultural project in constant growth focused on strengthening local community sustainability, in 2021.
