“We can’t afford your disillusionment, no matter what side of the political aisle you are on,” says Karine Jean-Pierre, MSNBC political analyst and chief public affairs officer for MoveOn.
The MSNBC political analyst and chief public affairs officer for MoveOn hasn’t had to apply for a job in the traditional manner in years, something she chalks up to time she has invested in building up her network.
Resilience, says Jean-Pierre, “isn’t about the absence of trying situations, it’s about how you handle them when they do happen.”
“We need to make it easier to talk about, because talking about your struggles is often the first step toward getting help,” says Karine Jean-Pierre, an MSNBC political analyst and chief public affairs officer for MoveOn.
“As a woman, and especially as a black woman, I’ve had to become comfortable with recognizing and articulating my own value …” says the incoming deputy White House press secretary.
“You might be surprised to know that working in politics hasn’t disillusioned me,” says Karine Jean-Pierre. “If anything, it’s made me admire the voting process even more, no matter what side of the political aisle you’re on.”
