Despite breaking a bone in his neck over two weeks ago following a fall at his home in Kennebunkport, Maine, former President George H.W. Bush is back to making jokes.
America’s 41st president thanked his well-wishers with two thumbs up Thursday from his Twitter account joking, “Who knew jumping out of planes was safer than getting out of bed? Thanks to all for your kind get-well messages.”

— George Bush (@GeorgeHWBush) July 30, 2015Bush, 91, was released from a Maine hospital on July 19 after four days of treatment for a fractured vertebra and doctors anticipated a full recovery.
The former president has had his share of health problems over the past few years. He spent the week of last Christmas in a Houston hospital after he experienced difficulty breathing; and he spent nearly two months at the same hospital in January 2013 for bronchitis-related issues. He now uses a wheelchair since he can no longer walk.
Jeb Bush, the former president’s son and Republican candidate for president, also posted to Facebook with a post wishing his dad well.
