It looks like House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., feels she’s earned some bragging rights.
Today, she announced that the House Democratic Caucus approved its ranking committee members in the 113th Congress, describing them as “outstanding” and “diverse.”
Of the 22 leaders, seven are women.
Pelosi’s Tweet comes on the heels of House Speaker John Boehner’s, R-Ohio, announcement of the GOP’s 19 committee chairs last week, who are all white and all male. Boehner did finally find a woman for one of the two remaining open chairmanships last Wednesday: Rep. Candice Miller of Michigan is appointed to serve as chair of the House Administration Committee.
