Former President George H.W. Bush threw the ceremonial first pitch before the Houston Astros and Kansas City Royals playoff game Sunday. The game, held in Houston’s Minute Maid Park, was Game 3 in the American League Division Series.

Bush, a longtime Astros fan, sported an orange team jersey and matching orange socks. He delivered the pitch to Astros’ infielder Jed Lowrie.

In a wheelchair and neckbrace from a fall he took earlier this year, Bush took the field with his wife, Barbara, who said she thought the ceremonial pitch was “great.” The couple are regulars at Houston sporting events.

Baseball has been a part of Bush’s life for a long time. He was first baseman and captain of the 1948 baseball team at Yale University.
