Former President Jimmy Carter and wife Rosalynn shared a tender moment on The Atlanta Braves’ “Kiss Cam” at Turner Field on Thursday night.
The former Commander-In-Chief and first lady were in their usual seats (they’re season ticket holders) near the Braves dugout during a 5-0 loss to Toronto, according to the Associated Press. The couple, who’ve been married for 69 years, received a loud ovation and they returned the recognition with a big smile.
The moment was bittersweet in light of the fact that the 90-year-old announced last month he has been diagnosed with cancer that has spread to his his brain. The president said he would scale back his work at The Carter Center to focus on treating the disease.
Meanwhile, this far from the first time a first couple has shown their affection for each other in public.
President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama, married since 1992, shared their own “Kiss Cam” moment at a Team USA basketball exhibition game in Washington D.C. in 2012.
Here’s a look back at adorable White House couples expressing their love.
