Mitt Romney didn’t hold back when casually chatting up wealthy donors about the “47 percent” or giving tips to Iran on how to attack the U.S. Even the ladies from The View couldn’t escape a mention in the politically poisonous fundraising tape.
The Republican presidential candidate called out Whoopi Goldberg by name on the tape that’s sweeping the political world, calling her a particularly “sharp-tongued” host.
The actress/comedian composed a response in a series of tweets, forming a Dear John letter of sorts to Romney, explaining why she initially liked him as a candidate and where it all went wrong. In chronological order…

As Romney explained to his audience of Republicans, appearing on The View poses a “high risk” for him because “of the five women on it, only one is conservative.” He added, “Although last time I was on the show [Whoopi] said to me, ‘You know what? I think I could vote for you.’ And I— and I said, ‘I must have done something really wrong.’”
Romney will get a chance to win back their collective good graces next month. According to The Hollywood Reporter, co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck read a statement on-air Wednesday from the Romney campaign, saying the candidate would “love to once more join the sharp-tongued chatter in October.”
