Today’s installment of campaign-related news items that won’t necessarily generate a post of their own, but may be of interest to political observers:
* On Wednesday, the day after the town-hall debate, the Obama campaign had its “biggest fundraising day” ever, including 2008.
* In Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren (D) continues to put the race against Sen. Scott Brown (R) in a national context, warning voters about the consequences of a Republican-led Senate.
* In Wisconsin, a new NBC/WSJ/Marist poll shows President Obama leading Mitt Romney by six, 51% to 45%.
* In Iowa, the same poll found Obama leading Romney by eight, 51% to 43%, though plenty of folks on both sides expect the Hawkeye State to be much closer.
* In Colorado, Public Policy Polling now has the president ahead by three, 50% to 47%.
* In Virginia, PPP has Obama up by just one point, 49% to 48%.
* In Michigan, the latest EPIC-MRA poll has the president leading by six, 52% to 46%.
* Is the Romney campaign so confident about winning North Carolina that it’s reassigning staffers to other states? It sure looks like it.
* On top of the massive new ad buys from the Romney campaign and Karl Rove’s American Crossroads, Romney’s Restore Our Future super PAC is launching a $12 million ad buy of its own in the eight key battlegrounds, plus a ninth: Michigan.
* In Wisconsin, the NBC/WSJ/Marist poll shows Tammy Baldwin (D) with a modest lead over Tommy Thompson (R) in their U.S. Senate race, 49% to 45%.
* And in Connecticut, two new polls shows Chris Murphy (D) leading Linda McMahon (R) in their U.S. Senate race, by margins of six and four points, respectively.
