Ok, I am sure you could live without me (maybe?). And of course you have picked up on my oh-so-witty music puns, clever you! Forgive me, I couldn’t resist. This Sunday brings The 55th Annual Grammy Awards and I am ecstatic to see who will come out a victor, in addition to all the show-stopping performances that are lined up.
Aside from my excitement for performances by The Lumineers, Mumford & Sons, The Black Keys, Alicia Keys, Frank Ocean, Justin Timberlake, Sting (just to name a few), nothing will top my joy that Justin Bieber is NOT one of the many nominated this year. Phew, the music industry has come to its senses! (Sorry Bieber fans, I am not sorry.)
I do not envy the select persons that must decide the winners of each category, as you can see below, the list is extensive. However, what an incredible music journey each voter gets to travel. There is no doubt that this past year was a memorable year for music. We were introduced to new artists and sounds (i.e. Miguel, Alabama Shakes, Frank Ocean, Hunter Hayes, fun., The Lumineers) which left us craving for more. While we were also reacquainted with some of our old favorites (Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Tom Waits).
