The TSA is looking for your help!
The Transportation Security Administration recently acknowledged that airport screening lines can indeed be long, painful, and frustrating. But those frustrations may be coming to an end as the TSA is now offering rewards of up to $15,0000 to anyone who can design the “next generation checkpoint queue,” which will hopefully rid airports of the dreaded TSA checkpoints and bring a new security checkpoint to life.
The TSA is compiling all submissions on the crowdsourcing site Innocentive, where they will look for the idea that best identifies how to keep the line moving. “TSA is looking for the Next Generation Checkpoint Queue Design Model to apply a scientific and simulation modeling approach to meet queue design and configuration needs of the dynamic security screening environment,” the proposal reads.
The challenge “is about leveraging innovation and out-of-the-box thinking to find solutions to TSA’s most challenging issues,” TSA spokesman Ross Feinstein said.
With more than 1,000 ideas submitted so far and a deadline of August 15th, there is still time for you to get in on the action.
