For the first time since the election, Congress is back in town. With only 16 scheduled working days left to address the fiscal slope and impeding deficit before the end of the year, Congress has a lot of work ahead of them. So, for a Congress that has done little in the past 20 months, to have only 16 days to get our Country out of gridlock is a difficult task.
Now, the president is also taking matters into his own hands. Today, he met with labor leaders, and tomorrow he will be meeting with business leaders. On Friday he has invited congressional leaders from both sides including Speaker Boehner and Minority Leader Pelosi to the White House for debt talks in order to hopefully move forward and reach a compromise before Congress breaks for the holidays.
