Vice President Biden is leading a White House gun policy task force that was set up by the President following the Newtown massacre to examine how to lower the rates of gun violence. Today, he is meeting with Democratic members of Congress and tomorrow he is expected to release the team’s recommendations to the President. According to poll conducted by The Hill, 49% of voters believe that our current gun laws are too lax verses the 35% who believe we don’t need to change U.S. gun laws. Also, a recent Gallup poll shows that 38% of Americans are dissatisfied with the nation’s gun laws and think they should be changed, which is up from 25% just a few years ago. Still, this poll shows that 43% of Americans are satisfied with our current gun laws.
Exactly one month after the Newtown massacre Americans are still strongly divided on their views concerning gun laws. Former Representative and Adm. Joe Sestak joins the conversation today to discuss guns and politics and what he believes the upcoming Biden Task Force report will reflect.
