A winner drinks all political style bet

The rivalry between the U.S. and Canada has put some good old fashion beer on the line.

In what has become an Olympic tradition, President Obama and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper made a friendly wager on the Canadian and U.S. Olympic hockey matches on Thursday.

The wager, which was announced on Twitter, states that the winner of each game gets a case of cold brew.

On Wednesday the two leaders met up during the North American Leaders’ Summit in Toluco, Mexico when some friendly badgering occured. “For a very brief period of time, I may not feel as warm towards Canadians as I normally do, at least until those matches are over,” President Obama said to Prime Minister Harper.

While the type of beer that the winner receives is still unknown, in 2010 President Obama delivered a case of Molson Canadian beer to Prime Minister Harper after Team Canada won the men’s gold in the Vancouver Olympics.
