msnbc host Alex Witt put In Touch Senior Editor Kim Serafin on the spot making her pick who she thought the best of the best were going to be in the major categories. No easy task, since there were a lot of solid performances in the industry this year. Serafin picked Ben Affleck’s Argo to win best picture. She also had Daniel Day Lewis and Anne Hathaway as best actor and best supporting actress respectively.
Seth Macfarlane is hosting the ceremony for the first time. The Academy hopes an edgy performance from the comedian will help attract younger viewers.
